Every salmon fisher knows the thrill of hooking a big one!
The one that gets away is always the biggest one
I was trolling when wham a great strike the fish took off stripping line finally it slowed down then turned back I kept reeling to keep the line tight then a huge fish jumped out of the water landing with a big splash taking line again then back at me up out of the water again I had fought this fish for about an hour I thought it was getting tired but one more time back at me this time it was the highest jump yet but this time the line wrapped the end of the pole and when the fish hit the water and went for the bottom at full force my rod snapped in half and cut the line I don’t know how big the salmon was but to break and Eagle Claw pole he had to be over 50 pounds.
Even thuo I did not get the fish I still have the pole to show the one that got away.
