Welcome to our Pheasant Hunting pagesPheasant stories Pheasant hunting in Kansas was a family tradition. We would drive there from Colorado on opening day. I always loved the first rooster to jump. It would make your heart race! It was always exciting even when you knew they were there when they came up like a helicopter and you have to decide whether or not it’s a hen or a rooster. After they went down running to find them before they could hide -was the one thing you learned quick about pheasants is.. they blend in well. I still remember one trip my wife went with us, we were at the end of a field we had be walking toward. We gathered around to decide were to go next, after about two minutes all the sudden a hen that had been sitting, decided she had enough she ran right up the front of my wife -then flew off. We were all laughing. It scared her so bad that she went to the car and did not hunt with us for the rest of the day (We would hunt for three or four days then head home with new stories to tell for the year). | ||||||||||||||||||||||
