Welcome to our Dove Hunting pagesIn most cases, when dove hunting, you can expect to walk through fields and/or stand in a field for a long period of time. Make sure you have comfortable foot ware as well as the proper clothing for both hot and cold conditions (when you least expect, the weather will change -particularly if the hunting is good). Most dove hunting is done in flat to rolling hills, slightly wooded areas that fringe say a wheat field would be a good place to catch doves passing by. When in season, it's not uncommon to be able to "sit one spot" and shoot dove all day long. Dove hunting is not extremely demanding and is well suited for any level of shooter. Dove Equipment 1. Shotgun - Any shotgun from .410 to .12ga will work fine. Birdshot to a duck hunting load will be great (lighter the better). 2. Shells - Always, ALWAYS bring more than you think you'll shoot. - little worse than running out of bait when the fishin's good 3. A Good Bird Dog - not necessary but nice to have for retrieving your birds 4. Shooting Vest - holds your birds and will plenty of shells at rapid access 5. Water - lots of walking and standing in the sun, be prepared. 6. Flashlight - if you find the right spot, you may be coming out after dark. 7. Sunglasses - you will be in the sun most of the time 8. Shotgun Sling and Shotgun Holster - expect to be carrying your gun at all day
